Help
How can we help?
Getting started
- Bring your music in. Drag files or whole folders into Fadero in your browser, or bring in your rekordbox, Serato DJ or Traktor library as it is with the desktop app.
- Let it analyse. Every track gets its BPM, beatgrid, key, loudness, phrases and waveform. The status bar shows progress and time left.
- Tidy up. Needs attention lists tracks missing information, with a fix for each. Duplicates, messy titles and artwork have tools of their own.
- Take it to the booth. Sync to rekordbox, Serato DJ or Traktor on your laptop, or export a USB stick for CDJs (Fadero checks every file).
Your library
Which audio files can I upload?
MP3, AAC/M4A, WAV, AIFF, FLAC and ALAC. Fadero spots files you've already uploaded and skips them, and big uploads can be resumed.
Can I correct a BPM, grid or key?
Yes. Fix it once and everything that depends on it updates. Lock it, and re-analysis never overwrites your correction.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Every change is recorded in the activity log, and you can revert one change or a whole batch.
What if my laptop dies?
Your library is stored in the cloud, so nothing is lost. Sign in on another computer and carry on.
USB sticks and CDJs
Will my USB sticks work on CDJs?
Fadero writes the Device Library format that CDJ-3000 and NXS2-generation players read, and OneLibrary for players like the CDJ-3000X, OPUS-QUAD, XDJ-AZ and OMNIS-DUO, with your cues, grids, phrases and playlists. See Compatibility.
Do I need rekordbox to play a stick?
No. The stick plays on CDJs without rekordbox.
What happens to what's already on my stick?
An export replaces any rekordbox library already on the stick. Use a stick for Fadero, or one you don't mind overwriting.
How does Fadero check a stick?
After every export it reads the stick back and checks each file arrived complete. You can verify a stick again later too.
Can Fadero read my play history?
Yes. After a gig, Fadero reads the stick's history into Gigs: every set you played, and which tracks you played at each.
rekordbox, Serato DJ and Traktor
How does sync work?
The desktop app brings in your rekordbox 6 or 7, Serato DJ 4 or 5, or Traktor library as it is. After that, sync keeps both in step, both ways: grids, cues, loops and playlists. Your DJ app (rekordbox, Serato DJ or Traktor) needs to be closed while it syncs. What syncs with each app.
Is my DJ app's library safe?
Fadero backs up your rekordbox, Serato DJ or Traktor library before every sync.
What about Engine DJ or VirtualDJ?
They're next. Until then, Fadero exports USB sticks that CDJs and XDJs read directly.
Do I need the desktop app?
Not for most things: Fadero runs in any modern browser. The desktop app for Windows and Mac adds DJ app sync, USB sticks that appear when you plug them in, watch folders and an audio output per deck.
Plans and billing
What's free?
Free does all the analysis for up to 500 tracks, with limits on the bigger tools. See Pricing for what DJ and Pro add.
What happens if I cancel?
You go back to Free, and nothing is ever removed on Free. If your library is bigger than Free's 500 tracks, it's paused: you can still browse it, download anything and delete tracks, but you can't play, edit, export or sync until you're back within 500 or your plan is back. Your DJ apps aren't changed while it's paused.
What if I move to a smaller plan?
Everything keeps working for 7 days. If you're still over the smaller plan's limit after that, your oldest tracks beyond it are disabled: they keep all their prep and can still be downloaded, but they don't play, export or sync, and your DJ apps aren't changed. Delete tracks, add a track pack or upgrade, and they come back. A track that stays disabled for 90 days loses its audio file but keeps its prep, and uploading the same file again restores it.
What if a payment fails?
Your account moves to Free that day, so if you're over 500 tracks your library is paused, just as if you'd cancelled, and nothing is removed. We keep trying your card quietly for a few days, and if a payment goes through, your plan comes back by itself.
Is there a free trial?
Yes: your first 14 days are free on a monthly DJ or Pro plan, founding price included. Your card is taken at checkout but nothing is charged until the trial ends, and if you cancel before then you're not charged at all. It's one trial per person and per card. Yearly plans are charged at checkout, and plan changes and track packs don't have a trial.
How does the founding member price work?
The first 500 people to join DJ pay £4.99/month for as long as they stay subscribed.
Privacy and your account
Is my music private?
Yes. Your library is yours alone. Nobody else can see or play it, unless you share it with another DJ on Pro.
What does the website collect?
No cookies. See the privacy page for exactly what's kept and for how long.
