OneLibrary explained

Updated

OneLibrary is the newer library format for USB sticks on Pioneer DJ and AlphaTheta players. It sits alongside the older Device Library, and which one a player reads decides whether your playlists show up.

What it is

When you export music to a USB stick for CDJs, a library database goes with it: the tracks' waveforms, beatgrids, cues and playlists. For years that was the Device Library. In October 2025 AlphaTheta, Pioneer DJ's parent company, launched OneLibrary with Algoriddim (djay) and Native Instruments (Traktor), as a format more than one app can write. It's the format rekordbox had been calling Device Library Plus.

Which players read it

A OneLibrary player doesn't show a stick's Device Library playlists or history, and an older player can't read OneLibrary. Player support is still being added, so check AlphaTheta's OneLibrary page for your model.

Which DJ apps write it

  • rekordbox 7 exports OneLibrary as well as Device Library.
  • djay Pro exports OneLibrary sticks.
  • VirtualDJ added OneLibrary export in September 2026.
  • Traktor support was announced at launch. Check Native Instruments' release notes for your version.

Sticks that work on old and new players

  1. Find out what the booth has. Ask the venue or check the rider: a newer setup may only show OneLibrary playlists, an older one only Device Library.
  2. Export the format the players read, or both if your software can write both to the stick.
  3. Export again after big changes. If tracks go missing on a OneLibrary player, rekordbox's advice is to export OneLibrary to the stick again.
  4. Carry a spare stick, and check it before you leave. See how to prepare a USB stick for CDJs.

OneLibrary from Fadero

Fadero writes USB sticks in both formats, straight from your master library in the cloud, with no rekordbox needed. Choose OneLibrary when you export for a OneLibrary player.

  • Your cues, beatgrids, phrases, waveforms and crates on the stick
  • Every file read back and checked after the export
  • Updating a stick only copies what changed
